Candle Safety Guide

To ensure a safe and enjoyable candle experience, please follow these guidelines carefully. Studio Jaiklu's candles are crafted with natural soy wax and premium materials, requiring proper care for optimal use.

1. General Safety Instructions

Remove Packaging : Remove all packaging and labels before lighting.
Trim the Wick : Keep the wick trimmed before each use to ensure an even burn and prevent excessive smoke.
First Burn : Burn the candle until the wax melts completely to the edges of the container to prevent tunneling.
Ventilation : Use in a well-ventilated area. If any discomfort occurs, discontinue use, ventilate the area, and consult a physician if symptoms persist.
Burn Time : Do not burn the candle for more than 3 hours at a time.
Supervise : Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from drafts, fans, or air currents.
Keep Out of Reach : Place the candle out of reach of children and pets.
Heat-Resistant Surface : Always place the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from flammable materials.
Stop Use : Discontinue use when 1/2 inch of wax remains to avoid overheating the container.

2. Standard Wick vs. Wood Wick Care

Standard Wick Care : Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use. If the wick mushrooms or produces excessive smoke, extinguish the candle, trim the wick, and relight.
Wood Wick Care : Wood wicks provide a crackling ambiance but require extra care. Keep the wood wick trimmed to 1/8 inch for a steady flame. If the flame extinguishes, trim the burnt top or gently remove excess wax around the wick to create a proper melt pool.

4. Characteristics of Natural Wax Blends

Frosting & Texture: Natural waxes may develop a white frosted appearance (crystallization) or an uneven, textured surface. These are inherent characteristics of additive-free wax formulations and do not impact the candle's performance or quality.
Wet Spots & Sinkholes: Temperature changes may cause the wax to pull away slightly from the glass (wet spots) or create small depressions (sinkholes). These are standard results of the natural cooling and setting process.
